Our all new Summer menu is a sumptuous salute to the season!
“Summertime is always the best of what might be” – Charles Bowden.
Think postcard pretty Winelands views from our wraparound balcony and summer inspired cuisine that captures the exuberant spirit of the season, where an all new dining & taste sensation beguiles the senses.
With old favourites making room for an all new gastronomic cast brimming with vivacious taste combinations and refreshing textures, the new Summer Menu calls for a mood-lifting, outer-city dining experience in the heart of the picturesque Devon Valley.
Celebrating the social side of summer, our Executive Chef Nadia Louw Smith and her team also added new intriguing flavour combinations for our signature Ice cream & Wine Pairing , which features four bite-size creations of fresh, homemade frosty delights that satisfies those in search of a lighter yet luscious indulgence with a friend, partner or colleague. This unique pairing costs R75.00, and is served with a matching Clos Malverne red and white wines for each Ice cream.
Completing The Restaurant @ Clos Malverne’s trio of summer offerings, the eatery’s popular Food & Wine Pairing Menu – which allows you to ‘do lunch in style’ without having to break the bank – has also been given a fresh summer spin. This sumptuous 4-course menu costs R348.00 per head and each of courses is served with a glass of matching Clos Malverne wine which ranges from crisp Sauvignon Blanc to the estate’s multi-crowned flagship Cape Blend, Auret, and popular
coffee-style pinotage, Le Café. For those that prefer lighter meals, we also offer an A la Carte Menu.
“Our new menu is fresh and vibrant in colour and taste with dishes such as the oh-so- sexy salmon mousse terrine with prawns marinated in lime & chili; a pan-fried sage & pine nut gnocchi, and a pear & walnut gorgonzola salad,” shares Nadia.
Meat aficionados will fancy the Chili and Honey sticky Pork Belly, served with mustard, sesame red cabbage coleslaw with a seven spice jus and carrot puree. Firm favourites such as the Grilled Fillet Steak and Grilled Springbok Loin retain their place as the red-meat elites.
Seafood lovers can look forward to the Pan-fried Line Fish, served with tempura mussels; fennel puree; butternut, dressed in a wonderful white wine veloute.
The Restaurant @ Clos Malverne is open from Tuesdays till Sundays for lunch and has developed a loyal following since 2009 for its easy, contemporary cuisine or as Nadia describes it “world food with an earthy sophistication, cooked from the heart and presented with perfection”.
